Let me start by saying, don’t let others define you, YOU are who YOU were meant to be!
After thinking almost a year now about what was said to me, I had to remind myself that others did not define me at all, and no-one has a right to determine my job title as a career or not a career.
Nevertheless, the amount of money you have in the bank…your salary… your job title…or the number of vacations you go on every year will never define YOU! Someone that tells you otherwise is just a piece of shit that has no clue what the hell they are talking about, and that head of theirs is as good as a pile of shit with flys eating on it and regurgitating! Just Saying 🙂
If you are in fact one of those people… you are a COWARD! You’re headed for a life full of disappointments, loneliness, and regrets. Sorry, not Sorry.
You Arrogant POS!
So, as I was talking with someone one day, I mentioned… “my career”. The response I received was not only jolting but very hurtful! How could anyone be so ignorant by laughing at you and stating:
“Career…what career?”… WTF, did they really just say that?
Yes, they sure did say it! Not once, but that was the second time by the same person.
If you have the balls to do such a thing, you are a true arrogant POS!
I love my job, and YES, it is my career!
So, I decided to write a short and sweet note back to this person.
To give you an insight into the real difference between “job and “career” it is actually your attitude. People that call their job’s a career are the ones that have long term goals and not just working for that paycheck, nor trying to belittle others that are not in as high of a position that you are. They are the ones that are thinking about what they can do now to make those goals happen in the future.
Look at it this way: If life were a video game, a job would be just one level. Having a career means that you are committed to playing the game to get better over time and advance to higher levels, and for me…this is a level of many levels I have passed since I started working at the age of 15, and I’M BACK IN SCHOOL AND CONSTANTLY LEARNING new skills, applying those new skills in my career, volunteering, taking on new task everyday. So, what have you done lately?
So let me also ask you, Is there anything going on at home? Do you need a hug or something? It’s cool, I get it. Your hurting on the inside, that’s why you you took it out on me.
So just an FYI…90% of the time bullies (yes that is the same as bullying) have got abuse issues, family problems much bigger going on at home. They prey on those they perceive as weak because it empowers them and distracts their mind from the real problems happening in their private life. My thought is to work on your own personal and family issues before you bark at someone else.
Remind Yourself Who You Are
Honestly, it’s easy to get so caught up in what others say that we begin to see ourselves in that light. Don’t lose sight of who you truly are and the unique qualities you’ve built within yourself.
As I go about my days, take on new challenges, form new relationships in my career, run into obstacles, and celebrate accomplishments in life, I take the time to remind myself of who I’ve become over so many bumps in the road over my lifetime, not who other people have deemed me to be.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my journey so far, it’s that people can only take from you what you allow. If you allow others to define who you are, you are giving them the power to dictate where your path will lead. And, sorry guys, I refuse to let a small bird brain dictate my desginated path of life. I’M KILLING it and I know it! Until next time my friends!
