As a society, we all know that Social argumentative topics tend to be a lot of legal versus moral. Nowadays I believe it is more about how the individual acts within society, and the pressures that society puts on individuals or groups of people. These topics tend to be a little easier to write about because you can pretty much make up your own topic. Think about what affects you personally or a family member, that tends to make writing come a little easier, but you must be careful to not use personal anecdotes and only facts. Remember we are not writing a narrative essay we are writing on a social argumentative topic. You must have facts to back you up!
SOME SOCIAL ARGUMENTATIVE TOPICS TO CONSIDER:
- Does Social Media have an effect on people’s behavior?
- Does the freedom of speech give the right to use hate speech?
- Should failed parenting be criminalized?
- What age should be considered the MOST prepared to raise a child?
- Is communication in technology today a good invention, or the end of physical and vocal communication?
- Should businesses, workplaces, and schools give more incentives to do volunteer work?
- Should all schools go to school with mandatory uniforms?
- Is drug testing in the workplace a violation of people’s privacy rights?
- Can online dating really replace meeting someone in person?
- Should Gay marriage be accepted in all democratic nations?
- Is it acceptable to use a cell phone while driving?
- At what age should it be legal to vote in the United States?
- Is there too much pressure on teens to go to college?
- Is social media starting to cause major issues in relationships?
- Should there be an age limit for kids owning Smart Phones?
Just remember a topic for an argumentative essay can be fun looking for as long as you choose a topic you are interested in! What is the first thing that comes to mind that you would love to back up with the facts? What do you think about when someone asks your opinion on a subject? Does this interest you? Would society have different views on the subject? Would you be able to find enough information to write on the subject? Take all these into consideration and you will do GREAT! HAPPY WRITING! Until next time my friends.
Yours Truly,
