In today’s society, we go and go. Our way of life is working, stress, raising a family, stress even more, and learning to live in debt up to our ears. Right? Do we ever take time out for ourselves? Do you ever think about doing something sporadically?
Put this in perspective. You work all week and get paid. Your intentions are to buy a new outfit, a new pair of shoes, or just go shopping. Something for “YOU”, you work all week, you deserve this! You get to the store, and you start trying to shop for yourself. In the meantime, you see these cute shorts that would look great on your daughter, son, or spouse. You start telling yourself well they need clothes more than me, and it is almost school time, new shoes are a must buy. Do you see where I am going with this?
You are just like every other parent, well most anyway. You put your family first, always. You feel bad when you buy yourself new things and not them, even if they have more than you, right? Of course, I do this ALL the time!
We make excuses for not doing for ourselves, we never take time out for us. What is the point of working when we don’t make ourselves happy? We work hard every day, we deserve to splurge every now and then. Yes, bills always come first but look at it this way. Do you eat out during the week? Do you eat out at lunch? Do you grab breakfast on the way to work? Ok, yes we all do this every now and then, and some of us every day. We ALL have the extra money to splurge on a goodie every now and then.
It’s time for you to splurge!!! We only live once, we will be in debt for the rest of our lives whether you are ready to believe it or not. If you have kids you will definitely be in debt FOREVER 😀 why, because Heather says so :-).
The next time you get paid, go buy YOU something! It is time to get back to doing for you. You know, like before your bundles of joy came into the world, before you had others in your life that you support. Being able to buy you something and splurge when you get paid every now and then, actually makes you want to work harder at what you want! Knowing you have this $200 purse that you worked your tail off for, will push you to work hard for your next treat!
Until next time my hardworking friends, remember don’t forget YOUR treat on payday this week, no one else!
Yours Truly,
Heather
