We tend to feel like something is missing like we need more sun and less rain in a certain area(s) of our lives? Guess what you’re not alone, in fact almost everyone wishes they were happier, more self-confident, productive, successful, and had a lot more money.
What we don’t realize is we are in control of our own life. You control whether you live a happy life. No one makes you work the job you hate, and no one makes you hang around people you don’t like.
Therefore, it’s time to start throwing out the garbage, get rid of
Don’t settle for mediocrity. The average life is not our best life, it’s what we have settled for. Set yourself aside and start shooting higher every day. Success comes to those who excel on a regular daily basis.
Stop Trying to be Perfect
Trying to make everything perfect can flood every area of our lives, leaving us feeling drained, washed-out, and defeated. So when do we tell ourselves it’s good enough? Ok, I am here to tell you It’s not completely our fault. We live in a world where we are consumed with images of perfection on social media, magazines, and tv. This causes us to create unrealistic expectations for ourselves.
Constantly thinking you need to be perfect can cause anxiety from the extra hours working that is not needed, and constant worry it is not good enough, trust me I know. Ultimately this can be holding you back from success.
Stop trying to be perfect and instead strive for improvement, give yourself clearance to focus on what is working in your life, rather than not working. Drop the unrealistic expectations. This mindset will only cause you to have unwarranted anxiety, stress, and worry about being a failure.
Attain Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the energy that helps us recognize the thoughts, emotions, experiences on a moment to moment basis that is already present in our lives. In today’s day in time, we all can agree that by adding a mindful lifestyle we can reduce our stress and preserve a sense of self and peace between our busy and hectic lives.
Mindfulness is when you are truly there, mind and body together. When your mind is there with your body, you are now in the present moment, only then can you recognize emotions, thoughts, and daily experiences at that moment in time. Individuals who have not reached mindfulness are stuck in their anger, fears, worries, and regrets. Happiness comes naturally but only once you have reached that mindful lifestyle, you realize what you are grateful for, why your life is important, only then will you truly feel alive.
Start Journaling
What happens when you feel you need to vent and no one is around to vent to? What I have started doing is writing in a journal, yes, my vent-session on paper versus bothering a friend with my issues when she has her own. Did you know that writing everything you need to get off your chest in a journal can actually help lower symptoms of depression and manage stress and anxiety?
Journaling gives you the opportunity to release those trapped feelings, but it also gives you the opportunity to organize your thoughts. Trust me, with my chaotic life, it is easy for me to overthink or feel anxious, I experience this quite often. Journaling can help you cope with life in a productive manner, and has definitely helped me.
Life Long Educating
When it comes to reading and learning, you may not take the time to do it enough. Personally, I love learning every day, I love teaching myself new things, it makes me feel good. When you feel intellectually stimulated, you are more likely to feel good and tend to be more productive whether it be at work, home, or any other areas of your life.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time to pick up a book or newspaper and start reading every day, in the morning or in the evening whenever is best for you. Rather than then scrolling through your social media page, grab the book on your nightstand and read a little before bed. Most importantly find a topic or area you are interested in, this makes reading a lot easier when you are interested. Not only will this stimulate your mind, but it may inspire you to start a new hobby or begin doing something that you really love.
There are many more things to consider when living your best life, but each one of these tips can most certainly get your started and benefit you in many ways. Whichever way you decide to go always know that you and only you are in control. You make your life, life does not make you! Until next time my friends, Happy Living.
Yours Truly,
The 411 Addict
